HP said it would cut 4,000 to 6,000 jobs, up to about 10% of its workforce, by the end of fiscal 2028 under a restructuring plan centered on adopting AI to raise productivity and save at least $1 billion a year.
Amazon said it would cut about 14,000 corporate jobs so it could run more like a startup, giving most affected employees 90 days to look for other roles inside the company.
Chegg said it would cut 388 roles, about 45% of its staff, blaming students' fast uptake of AI tools and reduced Google traffic for falling demand. It also brought back Dan Rosensweig as CEO.
Lufthansa said it would cut 4,000 mostly administrative jobs by 2030, largely in Germany, as it reviews duplicated work and expects AI and digital tools to streamline many processes.
Accenture's headcount fell by more than 11,000 in three months during an $865 million restructuring. CEO Julie Sweet said it was exiting staff who could not be reskilled for the AI skills it needs.
CEO Marc Benioff disclosed that Salesforce had cut about 4,000 customer support roles, shrinking support headcount from about 9,000 to 5,000, as AI agents began handling about half of customer conversations.
CrowdStrike said it would lay off 500 employees, about 5% of its workforce. CEO George Kurtz said AI lets the company hire fewer people and work more efficiently.
Morgan Stanley planned to cut about 2,000 jobs in its first major workforce reduction under CEO Ted Pick, sparing its roughly 15,000 financial advisers; people familiar said a small share reflected AI and automation.
Autodesk said it would lay off 1,350 employees, about 9% of its workforce, as it reshapes its sales model and moves resources toward cloud, platform and AI work.
Workday said it would cut about 1,750 jobs, roughly 8.5% of its workforce, with CEO Carl Eschenbach saying the reductions would let the company prioritize investments such as artificial intelligence.
