Press reported AI: WSMV tied the cuts to Kroger's AI push; the CEO memo cited excess layers and overhead.
Kroger said it would cut nearly 1,000 corporate jobs, about 200 of them in the Cincinnati area, in its third round of non-store cuts in 2025. It said the move simplifies the company and frees money for lower prices.
Each layoff is an announcement a company made or confirmed, with at least one source. Employee totals add the numbers as stated: “about”, “at least” and “up to” figures count as given, and layoffs without a number count toward companies and layoffs only. Headquarters filters use where a company is based, not where the cuts happen.
